Blockade Management Team
Dave is President and COO of Blockade Medical and a seasoned medical device executive with 20 years of experience working within the medical device and interventional neurovascular industry.
Prior to co-founding Blockade Medical, he served as VP Product Development/Clinical Research & General Manager of MindFrame Inc.(acquired by Covidien in 2012), a developer, manufacturer and marketer of minimally invasive products for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke based in Irvine, CA.
Prior to that he served as Director of Clinical Research/R&D for Microvention (acquired by Terumo in 2006), a developer, manufacturer and marketer of minimally invasive products for treatment of cerebral and vascular peripheral diseases based in Aliso Viejo, CA.
His past roles have included Director of Technology Development of Micrus Endovascular (IPO in 2004 and acquired by J&J/Codman in 2010), Sr. R&D/Pilot Engineer of Boston Scientific in Watertown, MA, and R&D Process Engineer at IMPRA, Inc. in Tempe, AZ (acquired by C.R. Bard in 1996). Dave received a B.S. in Plastics Engineering from University of Lowell, in Lowell, Massachusetts. He holds several US and international patents for medical devices.
Vice President, Global Marketing and Business Development
Ryan is the Vice President of Global Marketing and Business Development at Blockade Medical and has more than 10 years of medical sales and marketing expertise including extensive interventional neurovascular experience.
Ryan has successfully launched many products in the neurovascular field including launching the first flow diversion device in the United States while serving as the Group Marketing Manager at Covidien Neurovascular and global launches of multiple coil lines as a Sr. Product Manager at MicroVention.
His previous roles have also included Associate Marketing Manager at Karl Storz Endoscopy, Sr. Clinical Sales Specialist at Glaxo Smith Kline, and a Professional Sales Representative for Boehringer Ingelheim. Ryan received a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of California, Riverside and a M.B.A. from the University of California, Irvine.
Vice President, North American Sales
Todd is the Vice President of North American Sales at Blockade Medical and has more than 13 years of sales and sales leadership experience working within the medical and interventional neurovascular space.
Prior to working at Blockade Medical, Todd held sales leadership roles at Stryker Neurovascular, Concentric Medical and Kyphon Inc. During his time in those positions he successfully recruited, developed and lead teams to multiple annual sales awards. Todd has a rounded experience selling both first to market technologies as well as selling products into more mature and highly competitive product classes.
Todd holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland and is an avid endurance athlete who competes primarily in Ironman and half Ironman events.
Vice President, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs
Charles is currently the Vice President of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs at Blockade Medical. He has been in the medical device industry for over 15 years in the quality and regulatory field with extensive experience in achieving product approvals in a timely manner. Charles has been successful in achieving multiple product approvals through CE Mark, 510K and other regulatory processes all over the world. He has a diversified portfolio of working in start-up companies and large corporations which has allowed him to gain the experience to build efficient quality systems that meet the needs of the medical device industry. Prior to joining Blockade Medical, Charles worked at various medical device companies which include Acutus Medical, MindFrame Inc. (acquired by Covidien), Ablation Frontiers (acquired by Medtronic) and Edwards LifeSciences.
Charles received a B.S. in Bio-engineering at the University of California, San Diego.
Director, Research & Development
Jake is currently the Director of Research & Development at Blockade Medical. He has been in the medical device industry for over 8 years. Prior to joining Blockade Medical, Jake served as a Senior R&D Engineer at Microvention, developing neuroendovascular technologies to treat cerebral aneurysms.
Jake has held diverse positions in the medical device industry, which includes Manufacturing Engineer at Microvention, Manufacturing Engineer at Abbott Vascular (formally Evalve, Inc.) and Quality Engineer at St. Jude Medical. Jake received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Colorado, Boulder
Randall is the Director of Manufacturing at Blockade Medical and has been working in the medical device industry for 10 years. He has a wide breadth of manufacturing experience in different medical device fields. Prior to Blockade Medical, he served as a Sr. Engineer overseeing the Manufacturing and Operations department at MindFrame, Inc. (acquired by Covidien in 2012), a manufacturer of products for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke.
At MindFrame, Randall successfully developed a multi-product line that was integral in the launch of several low profile products for the treatment of ischemic stroke. Other past roles were as a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer at Ivantis, Inc., where he ran operations for glaucoma treatment devices. Randall has also served as a Manufacturing Engineer and Supervisor at Abbott Vascular where he oversaw the manufacturing of self-expanding Drug Eluting Stents, which included development of new processes and implementing lean concepts.
Randall received a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from University of California San Diego.
